   When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our driver will meet you and transfer you to Planet Lodge in Arusha. Take some time to settle in, relax after your flight and enjoy the surroundings. We will confirm the safari arrangements and departure time for the following morning.

   Airport transfer: Approximately 50–60 km from JRO, depending on the route.

   Driving time: Around 1–1.5 hours, depending on traffic.

   Activities: Airport pickup, hotel check-in and safari briefing.

   Day 2

   Arusha to Serengeti National Park

   After an early breakfast, we leave Arusha and drive through the Ngorongoro highlands towards Serengeti National Park. The scenery changes from busy towns and farmland to green highlands and, eventually, the wide-open plains of the Serengeti.

   After entering the park, we begin our game drive as we make our way towards camp. Keep your camera ready because wildlife may appear along the tracks. Depending on the season, we will look for wildebeest herds, zebras, lions, elephants and other animals.

   Distance: Approximately 300–325 km to Central Serengeti.

   Driving time: Around 7–9 hours, including stops and park entry.

   Game viewing: Approximately 2–4 hours, depending on arrival time and sightings.

   Full-day Serengeti wildlife and migration safari

   Today is all about enjoying the Serengeti without rushing. We start early, when wildlife is often active, and explore the plains and river areas with our guide. We will search for the migration herds and follow promising wildlife sightings where park roads allow.

   We may come across lions resting in the grass, elephants moving through the woodland, giraffes feeding on acacia trees or hippos gathered in pools. We stop for a picnic lunch in an authorised area before continuing our afternoon game drive.

   Game drives: Approximately 6–8 hours across the morning and afternoon, with breaks.

   Distance: Approximately 50–120 km of game-drive travel, depending on sightings and the location of the herds.

   Day 4

   Morning game drive and return to Arusha

   After breakfast, we enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti. This is another opportunity to look for wildlife we may not have seen yet and take photographs of the beautiful plains.

   Later, we begin our journey back towards Arusha via Naabi Hill Gate and the Ngorongoro highlands. We will make suitable stops along the way before arriving at Planet Lodge for a relaxing evening.

   Distance: Approximately 300–325 km to Arusha.

   Driving time: Around 7–9 hours, including stops.

   Game viewing: Approximately 2–3 hours before starting the return journey.

   Day 5

   Maasai cultural experience

   Visit a traditional Maasai community near Arusha and learn about their culture and everyday life. With local Maasai hosts, you will learn about traditional homes, cattle keeping, colourful beadwork, and customs passed down through generations. Enjoy traditional songs and dancing, meet community members, and have time to browse handmade crafts. It is a good way to experience another side of Tanzania beyond the wildlife safari.

   Duration: Approximately 3–4 hours for a half-day visit.

   Distance: Depends on the community; some visits are around 45–90 minutes from Arusha

   Enjoy breakfast at Planet Lodge, depending on your flight schedule. Our driver will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight. We recommend allowing enough time for the journey and airport check-in.

   Driving time: Around 1–1.5 hours, depending on traffic.

Getting There

• Starts in Arusha,Tanzania and ends in Arusha, Tanzania.
• Fly to and from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
• A transfer from and back to the airport is included.
• Extra nights before or after the trip can be arranged for an extra cost.
• Please arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where our driver will meet you and transfer you to Planet Lodge in Arusha for your overnight stay before the safari begins. At the end of your safari, we will transfer you back to Arusha for your overnight stay, followed by an airport transfer on your departure day. Please share your flight details with us in advance so we can arrange your transfers. If you are arriving or departing through a different airport, please let us know when booking so we can plan accordingly.
