Cancellation & Refund Policy

A booking on Africa Travel Bookings has two separate parts, and they are refunded very differently. The 10% Booking Confirmation Fee you pay us is refunded, less transaction fees, if your booking does not go ahead with the operator. The remaining balance is a contract between you and your tour operator, under that operator's own terms. We never hold, refund, or arbitrate it.

The 10% Booking Confirmation Fee, paid to us

Refunded if your booking does not go ahead. This fee secures your reservation: it takes the departure off the market and commits the operator to hold your place. If that booking is ultimately not successful, we return the fee to you.

Less transaction fees. The payment processor keeps its charge on both the original payment and the refund, and we cannot recover it. That deduction is typically a small percentage of the fee, and the exact figure is shown on your refund confirmation.

It is charged once, at booking, and is 10% of the listed trip price × your party size. It is not a deposit against your trip cost held in escrow. It is a reservation fee, and it is what funds this marketplace.

One full-refund case: if your operator does not make contact within 48 hours of your booking, email us and we will refund the fee in full, transaction fees included.

The remaining balance, paid to your operator

You pay the balance directly to the tour operator, not through this platform. We never receive, hold, or process that money.

Whether it is refundable, and on what schedule, is set entirely by your operator's own cancellation terms. Ask them before you pay, and keep their written confirmation.

Because we do not hold these funds, we cannot refund them and cannot compel an operator to do so.
