3-Day Murchison Falls Safari

Overview

Gilead Summit Holidays is pleased to propose a 3-day Murchison Falls safari designed for two couples seeking a comfortable and memorable introduction to Uganda's largest national park. The safari combines scenic countryside travel, wildlife game drives, a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile, and a visit to the spectacular Murchison Falls.

   Day 1

   Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

   The safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your preferred location in Kampala at approximately 7:00 AM. You will travel northwards through the beautiful Ugandan countryside towards Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes approximately six to seven hours, depending on traffic and stops along the way.

   A lunch stop will be arranged en route before continuing towards the national park. Upon arrival, you will enter Murchison Falls National Park and proceed to the Top of the Falls, one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Uganda and an excellent opportunity for photography.

   After visiting the falls, you will continue to your selected lodge for check-in and relaxation. The evening will be free to enjoy the lodge facilities and surrounding environment.

   Day 2

   Game Drive and Nile Boat Cruise

   Your second day begins early with breakfast followed by a morning game drive through the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park. The early morning is an ideal time for wildlife viewing because animals are generally more active before the temperatures become warmer.

   During the game drive, you may encounter elephants, Rothschild's giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kob, Jackson's hartebeest, waterbucks, warthogs and a variety of other antelope species. With some luck, you may also spot predators such as lions and leopards. The park is also home to an impressive variety of bird species.

   After the morning game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax. In the afternoon, you will proceed to the Victoria Nile for a boat cruise towards the base of Murchison Falls, offering excellent opportunities to observe hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and numerous water birds along the riverbanks.

   After the cruise, return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, followed by dinner and overnight accommodation.

   Day 3

   Final Game Drive and Return to Kampala

   After an early breakfast, you will embark on a final game drive in Murchison Falls National Park, giving you another opportunity to search for wildlife that may not have been encountered on the previous day's game drive.

   After the game drive, you will leave the national park and begin your journey back to Kampala. Lunch will be taken along the way before continuing towards the capital.

   Depending on traffic and road conditions, you are expected to arrive in Kampala between approximately 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM, marking the end of your 3-day Murchison Falls safari.
