Overview

Our Kenya and Tanzania safari covers some of the best destinations in both countries, including the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru National Park, Hell’s Gate National Park, Amboseli National Park, Serengeti National Park, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater.

This tour accepts children who are 1 year and older.

   Day 1

   Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve

   Early in the morning, you will meet our Kenya driver at your agreed upon pick-up point within the Nairobi area. The driver will transfer you to our office for an introduction to your safari guide and fellow tourists. From here you will depart Nairobi with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to witness the escarpment wall. Descend the wall and continue to Narok town, arriving at the camp for lunch, check in, and a short siesta before an afternoon Masaivillage. Search for wildlife and witness the sunset, then drive back to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

   Masai Mara National Reserve

   Have breakfast at the campsite, then receive a briefing on your upcoming safari. Masai Mara National Reserve is famous for its large number of African wildlife species and the annual Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras from July to October. You will depart camp with packed picnic lunches in hand to allow for an extensive game drive. Break for lunch in the wilderness, then continue game driving until late evening, at which point you will return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

   Masai Mara National Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park

   Have breakfast, then proceed to a nearby Maasai village for a cultural experience, where you can dance and sing with the Maasai people and listen to their stories. Afterwards, depart the Mara region and continue to Lake Nakuru, arriving at your hotel in the late evening for dinner and your overnight stay.

   Lake Nakuru National Park - Hell's Gate National Park

   Have breakfast at your budget hotel in Nakuru, then check out and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, where you will enjoy at least four hours of game driving. Lake Nakuru National Park is home to a sanctuary for the endangered black and white rhinoceros, as well as flamingos, buffalo, zebras, Rothschild giraffes, waterbuck, baboons, pelicans, and many other wildlife species. Visit the Baboon Viewpoint Cliff, then depart Lake Nakuru National Park around 11:00 a.m. for a short drive to Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival at your budget hotel, you will check in, eat a hot lunch, and relax before dinner and your overnight stay. Your safari guide can also suggest optional activities, such as a visit to the lakeshore or to flower farms in the Naivasha area.

   Hell's Gate National Park - Amboseli National Park

   Eat breakfast at your budget hotel in Naivasha, then check out and depart for Hell’s Gate National Park for a game drive or bicycle ride. Hell’s Gate is part of the Lake Naivasha area, where tourists are free to walk alongside wild animals or cycle, as there are no predators. You will arrive at the Hell’s Gate Gorge for a guided nature walk, then ascend to the main gate, exit the park, and drive to Amboseli National Park via Nairobi, with a stopover for a hot lunch along the highway. You will arrive at Amboseli in the late evening for dinner, a bonfire, and your overnight stay.

   Amboseli National Park

   Have breakfast at the campsite, then depart for Amboseli National Park for a great safari experience. Amboseli National Park is famous for its large herds of African elephants and the stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro located across the border in Tanzania. Visit the swampy areas of the park, where jumbo elephants graze and bathe during the day, while other wildlife species gather in search of drinking water. Stop at the Amboseli viewpoint for spectacular views and enjoy your packed picnic lunch at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro before continuing across the plains of Amboseli National Park in search of more African wildlife. Exit the park in the late evening and drive to the campsite for an optional activity, followed by dinner, a bonfire, and your overnight stay.

   Amboseli National Park - Arusha

   Enjoy an early breakfast, check out, and depart with packed picnic lunches in hand for your final two-hour game drive in Amboseli National Park. Enter the park through Amboseli Kimana Gate and exit through Amboseli Mashenani Gate before driving to the Namanga border between Kenya and Tanzania. After the immigration process, board a shuttle bus to Arusha. Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon, where you will meet our Tanzania agent for a transfer to your hotel. Check in and spend the evening at your leisure before dinner and your overnight stay.

   Arusha - Tarangire National Park

   Eat breakfast at the campsite, then check out and meet with our Tanzania agent for an introduction to your Tanzania driver-guide and fellow tourists. Depart Arusha with packed lunches in hand for your game drive in Tarangire National Park, which is fed by two rivers that provide enough water for its wildlife species. These rivers attract a wide variety of animals, allowing for an exciting safari. Later, exit Tarangire National Park and drive to the Lake Manyara campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.

   Tarangire National Park - Lake Manyara National Park

   Have breakfast at the campsite, then depart for Lake Manyara National Park at 8:00 a.m. Explore the park for at least six hours in search of the tree-climbing lions, as well as flocks of pink flamingos and other bird species. Lake Manyara National Park is a fascinating location, with no visible river or stream supplying it with water. Sources confirm that it is fed by underground springs, streams, and rivers. Exit the national park in the late evening and drive to the campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.

    Lake Manyara National Park - Serengeti National Park

    After breakfast at the campsite, you will check out and drive to Serengeti National Park with picnic lunches in hand. Arrive at the main gate for registration at noon and then drive to your central Serengeti campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.

    Serengeti National Park

    After an early breakfast you will begin your game drive in Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is famous for its massive migration of wildebeest and zebras. Traverse the park and enjoy up-close encounters with African wildlife species. You will pay a visit to the crocodile-infested Grumeti River, hippo pools, and other attractions within the park. In the late evening, drive back to the central Serengeti Seronera campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.

    Day 12

    Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

    A visit to Serengeti National Park is not complete without multiple safaris. Depart the campsite immediately after breakfast with picnic lunches in hand for a game drive until noon. You will then exit the park en route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with an optional stopover at the Olduvai Gorge Museum. Upon arrival at the campsite, you will pitch the tents, enjoy dinner and a bonfire, and then retire for your overnight stay.

    Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

    Have breakfast at the campsite, then check out and depart with packed picnic lunches in hand for your safari destination: the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the “Seven Wonders of the World” and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you will see some of the remaining black rhinoceros, African buffalo, elephants, and wildebeest, as well as eland, lions, and other African wildlife species. The topography also offers great views of the crater. Enjoy your picnic lunch at the crater rim, then ascend with a game drive to the main gate. Upon exiting the crater you will drive to Arusha town and check in to your hotel, which will be booked on a bed and breakfast basis.

    You will have breakfast at your Arusha hotel and then meet with our Tanzania agent. Depending on your departure plans, you will either be transferred to Arusha Airport or take a shuttle bus from Arusha to Nairobi. It is our responsibility to ensure you are at the right place at the right time.
