Overview

Explore Uganda’s leading wildlife and primate destinations on a private circuit linking Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Lake Mburo. The journey combines game drives, boat safaris, chimpanzee tracking, gorilla trekking and guided nature experiences with comfortable mid-range lodges.

   Ziwa Rhinos and Murchison

   Leave Entebbe with your private driver-guide and travel north through Uganda’s countryside toward Murchison Falls National Park. Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an included guided walking safari with a ranger to observe southern white rhinos, then continue after lunch to the park. Arrive at your comfortable mid-range lodge in the late afternoon, settle in and enjoy dinner while preparing for the next day’s wildlife activities.

   Murchison Game Drive and Boat

   Start before sunrise with a private game drive across the northern savannahs of Murchison Falls National Park in a normal closed 4x4 vehicle. Search for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions, antelope and abundant birdlife before returning for breakfast. After lunch, take an included boat trip on the Victoria Nile toward the base of the falls, watching for hippos, crocodiles and animals gathering along the riverbanks, then return to the lodge for dinner.

   Transfer to Kibale Forest

   After breakfast, leave Murchison Falls and travel south through rural landscapes toward Kibale National Park. Pass farms, villages and tea-growing country, stopping for lunch and scenic views along the route. Arrive near Kibale’s tropical forest in the afternoon, settle into your comfortable mid-range lodge and meet your guide for a briefing about the following day’s chimpanzee trekking experience before dinner.

   Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale

   After breakfast, continue to the park headquarters for a ranger briefing before entering Kibale’s tropical forest for the included chimpanzee trekking activity. Follow forest trails while listening for calls and watching for primates, birds and other wildlife. Spend the permitted time observing a habituated chimpanzee community, return for lunch and enjoy a relaxed afternoon around the forest before dinner at the lodge.

   Kibale to Queen Elizabeth

   Leave Kibale after breakfast and travel south toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing crater lakes, tea plantations and views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Stop for lunch along the route and enter the park in the afternoon, taking in the open savannah, volcanic landscapes and wildlife along the road. Continue to your comfortable mid-range lodge, settle in and enjoy dinner while your guide outlines the following day’s safari program.

   Queen Elizabeth Game and Boat Safari

   Begin with an early game drive across Queen Elizabeth National Park in a normal closed 4x4 vehicle, searching for lions, elephants, buffalo, antelope and abundant birdlife on the Kasenyi plains. Return for breakfast and time to relax, then take an included afternoon boat trip along the Kazinga Channel. Observe hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds and large concentrations of animals at the water’s edge before returning to the lodge for dinner.

   Mountain Gorilla Trekking

   After an early breakfast, meet your ranger guide at the park headquarters for a briefing before entering Bwindi’s rainforest on the included mountain gorilla trek. Walk through steep, varied forest terrain while your ranger interprets the ecosystem and tracks the gorilla family. Once located, spend the permitted hour observing the gorillas at close range, then return with your picnic lunch and relax at the lodge after an unforgettable day.

   After breakfast, leave the Bwindi highlands and travel through terraced valleys to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most scenic freshwater lakes. Arrive in time for lunch at your comfortable mid-range lodge overlooking the island-dotted water. Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the views, or join an optional canoe or community activity arranged locally, before returning to the lodge for dinner and a quiet evening by the lake.

    Journey to Lake Mburo

    After breakfast, leave Lake Bunyonyi and travel northeast through the rolling countryside to Lake Mburo National Park. Stop for lunch and enter the park in the afternoon for an included game drive in a normal closed 4x4 vehicle. Look for zebra, impala, eland, buffalo and other plains wildlife among the acacia woodlands and lakeshore habitats, then continue to your comfortable mid-range lodge for dinner.

    Lake Mburo and Return to Entebbe

    Begin with an early game drive in Lake Mburo National Park using a normal closed 4x4 vehicle, searching for zebra, impala, eland, buffalo and rich birdlife in the compact savannah. Return for breakfast, then leave the park and travel toward Entebbe with a lunch stop near the equator. Reach Entebbe in the evening for drop-off at your agreed hotel or the airport, where this eleven-day circuit ends.
